Outcome 5D: Demonstrate effective professional communication to achieve a common understanding
In the fall of 2018, I applied to conduct an independent study of a literacy approach called Education Through Music (ETM) and how it can be applied to library programming. I created a plan of study that included readings, reflections, and a final project. In February 2019, I began writing weekly reflections called “Musical Monday” to share what I have learned about using ETM in my programming. I hope that these reflections will persuade children’s librarians to begin studying ETM.
