Outcome 5A: Apply marketing principles to demonstrate and promote the value of libraries and information agencies
In LIS 724 Integrating Technology into Programming , we looked at different methods of marketing library programs. I created a book trailer for “What We Found in the Sofa and How it Saved the World” by Henry Clark as a preview for my Book and Cookie Club’s March 2018 meeting. This assignment proved that book trailers can be effective marketing tools. The 3rd through 6th graders in my club responded so well to the trailer that it is now a regular part of our meetings to view the trailer for the upcoming month’s book. I also reached out to my library’s marketing team to share the book trailers. They have used them to promote my Book and Cookie Club on Facebook, which has led to new members joining the club!
