Outcome 3D: Assess the applicability of current and emerging technologies to information management
In LIS 724 Integrating Technology into Programming, we reflected on how librarians can implement Pathfinders in either the school or public library setting. Using an online curation tool called Kapsul, I created a Pathfinder for potty training because it is a frequent topic of inquiry at the reference desk. I populated my Kapsul by examining the many potty training books, DVDs, and e-books in my library’s catalog and researching various websites that discussed potty training. The last part of this assignment was to reflect on how I could implement a Pathfinder in the public library setting. I believe it is essential for librarians to stay abreast of the newest technology platforms so we can explore, vet, and utilize these resources in our work with patrons at a professional level.
