Music and Movement is back!  I am so excited for another great session of facilitating this program. We purchased some new instruments #soexciting!

With the big numbers that we had last session, we decided that it would be a good idea to purchase some mesh drawstring bags and fill them with the instruments that we are using for the day so that we could maximize our singing, dancing, and playing time.

Last week's session of Baby Storytime was so much fun!  It is a lovely change of pace to be with the Babies again.

I am using the same bounces, songs, and tickles for the whole month of February because repetition is good for the babies and keeping the same materials will help empower caregivers to use these bounces, tickles, and songs at home with their babies!

The only activities I am changing from week to week are the books,  music activities and the nursery rhymes.

I have been very intentional with my book selections for this session.  I wanted to make sure that I incorporated as many diverse titles as I could because it is important for children to see themselves as the star of the story and to see examples of the world at large - even when they are itty bitty!

This session I get to hang out with the Babies again!  I am definitely going to miss my Preschool pals, but it will be fun getting to try a different age group for storytime.

I used to do "Lapsit" storytime during my 20 hour associate days when I first started out at my library.  It was awesome getting to watch all of those little peanuts grow!

I look forward to a great session of baby giggles, toots, and fun!

Today's most popular songs were: "Super Shaker Song" performed by Culture Queen, "Marching Medley" performed by Ralph's World, and "Tap My Sticks" performed by Ryan Judd.

We had a blast playing egg shakers and rhythm sticks and busted many a dance move with the scarves.

Today, we had 25 people in preschool storytime.  The kiddos were not up to attending on their own so their grown ups came in with them.
This is the original plan.  We ended up skipping "I See You, I See You", "Hop Old Squirrel", and "Someone's Wearing" due to time.  We spent a lot of time on "Hickety Tickety" because I wanted everyone to get acquainted since we had a large group today.
